TAT renews Tour of Isaan campaign for 2nd year

BANGKOK, 25 May 2016 (NNT) – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has renewed the Tour of Isan cycling activities in its second year, promoting tourism cycling routes and stimulate spending in the northeastern region.

TAT’s Executive Director for Northeastern Region Yupa Panrod has revealed that the TAT has decided to continue the Tour of Isan cycling activities for the second year under the concept “Green Tourism” to stimulate tourism activities among tourists who are interested in cycling.

The activities will be held twice along two routes in the Northeastern region, namely the Tour of Isan: Loei Classic II activity taking place on 5 June 2016. The route starts from Wang Saphung District to Nong Hin District in Loei Province on a 35-kilometer path. The second route is the Isan: Bueng Kan Classic II, taking place on 4 September 2016 at Bueng Kan Province.

The cycling activity in Loei Province has already received about 300 registrations from interested individuals, which is expected to help increase the province's spendings in accommodations and tourism.

Loei Province welcomes about 2 million visitors each year, generating about 3 billion baht revenue to Loei and its nearby provinces. It is expected that the number of visitors to Loei will increase by 10 percent this year, while the overall visitors to the Northeastern region is expected to be at 150 million. The provinces expects to generate no less than 65 billion baht in revenue, expanding by 6 percent for the year 2017.

Don't get me wrong, I love Issan. But to be a government accountant would be a great job. 300 registered jumps to 2000000 visitors. Guess if Trump loses his run in the US he could find a job at TAT.
