ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Ariya Jutanugarn tore her scorecard into pieces after walking off the 18th green at Travis Pointe, proving the competition isn't the only thing she is tearing up.

Jutanugarn moved a step closer to winning a third straight LPGA Tour title by shooting a 4-under 68 on Friday to take a two-shot lead in the Volvik Championship.

She had four back-nine birdies, including No. 18 when her approach went off a hospitality suite and landed in a greenside bunker 20 yards from the hole.

An amazing run, especially for a 20 year old rookie.

It will be interesting to see if she can win the next major, in two weeks: Women's PGA Championship June 9 -12.

Ariya captures third LPGA title in a row
CHICAGO - Thailand's Ariya Jutanugarn won her third consecutive LPGA title on Sunday, firing a final-round five-under par 67 to win the inaugural Volvik Championship by five strokes over American Christina Kim.
Ariya became the first player to capture her first three LPGA crowns in consecutive fashion, the 20-year-old from Bangkok moving within two of the tour record win streak of five events by Sweden’s Annika Sorenstam and American Nancy Lopez.
Ariya became the first Thai player to win an LPGA title by taking the Yokohama Tire Classic in Alabama earlier this month and added the Kingsmill Championship last week.

Ever since she lost to Yani Tsing on the 72nd hole of the Siam CC Honda Classic, I have felt she was destined for better days.

She is having those better days now and all of Thailand should be very proud of her.
