Samsung J7 help required

Featured Replies

I have just bought my wife a Samsung J7 as a birthday present. She loves it. On her old Nokia she could attach a photo to the names in Contacts so she could see who is calling. All the internet pages about J7 say simply go to Contacts, touch 'Edit' and then the little square where the photo should be. It will then give you the choice of adding an existing photo to the contact or taking a photo there and then.

But, when she touches 'Contacts' and 'Edit' all it allows her to do it so edit the contacts name and phone number, nothing else.

Anybody got any ideas? Please!

I have a Samsung "G" model.

When I open a contact (NOT edit) I see a placeholder image in the upper left (some cartoon like male face).

If I tap on it, I see "Contact photo" with three options.

First being "Image".

Tap on that and I can select an image from the phone memory/card.

BUT: even if I go further and do edit I see the placeholder image very small left of the name field.

Tap on it and again have three options.

I have a "J" model, stateside version, but should be the same. On Contacts click on the contact, click on edit in top right, opens the contact details. There is a camera just to the left of the contact name. Click on the camera. It opens a window that has "Contact photo - Image, or Take Picture. If you already have a photo in your gallery click on the picture and then you can crop the picture is needed or just click done. And now you have an image for the contact. Or can take a new picture and do the same steps. thumbsup.gif

Ms Bino has a J7 bought here about 10 days ago and it is the same. These are perfect step by step instructions.

Had this problem in the past if your contacts are on the sim card you can't do it you need to copy to phone as well.

kevc .......That's it! Thanks very much. Now we can do what the other posters say we can, before that we couldn't.

You'd think the manual would say something, as might the Samsung shop we bought it from.

thanks again,
