Unikode for Thai isn't showing all characters

Featured Replies

I've used this Thai keyboard for years and never had a problem, I recently had to downgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 7 and since then Unikode for Thai hasn't been the same...

I've included a screenshot, any ideas?

Did you actually try the "empty" keys and they don't show a result?

The screenshot shows an extremely small sized window (height).

No change when you resize?

What does the little "Setup" button (lower right) show? (I am not up to install it).

The question should be allowed: what's the advantage over the built-in On-Screen Keyboard? (osk)

Probably the only effort needed is the configuration of Thai keyboard layout to use it.

And yes, it uses the standardized Thai keyboard layout not the sorted arrangement as in "uniKode".

The "missing" characters are all above or below vowels.

I'm not exactly sure when the "dotted circle" (which acts as a placeholder for such characters which can't be displayed without a consonant) was introduced by Microsoft. I'm guessing it was some time between Windows 7 and 10. Anyway, that's the problem you're experiencing - the "dotted circle" isn't a feature of Windows 7. There isn't going to be a fix, other than to change application or change operating system.

My son takes pot-shots at it, and has eventually worked it out, so yes, they do show a result, but it's a bit of a pain working out what each one is on the few occasions we use it.

The window isn't resizeable.

The setup button is for emulation mode or mouse roll-over mode, nothing to do with the appearance of the keyboard nor config.

I didn't even know there was an OSK, I disabled ease of access a while back, I've now enabled it and can use the OSK, thanks for bringing that to my attention :)
