Have you tried turning it off and on again?

What file types are you trying to play?

Your phone can play music files that come in any of the following formats: FLAC, WAV, Vorbis, MP3, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, WMA, AMR-NB, AMR-WB, MID, AC3, and XMF. All you need to do is tap Save, and the file is saved on your phone and accessible from the Music Player app.

MIne does the same thing, but a reboot generally fixes it.

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

Enough of your highly technical solutions :)

What is the exact model number?

Does it have a music player?

Sometimes you have to tell the app. where your music files are located.

Maybe hook up the phone to your PC via USB, drag mp3 files to the Music folder - maybe the phone/app can't play music off the uSD card?

Assuming these mp3 files are not corrupted and play on other devices, they should play on the phone.

Some things to try

Put a folder called samsung in the directory ie sdcard...\samsung\music\(music files)

Go to your music players app settings and clear data/cache/

Reformat sdcard and start over

  • 2 weeks later...

Probably need a music player that can handle that format. Try PlayerPro.

  • 2 weeks later...

Isn't mp4 a video file not a music file, vlc plays both video and music but Samsung music player probably only plays mp3 style audio files or such like.
