Plug socket extension wiring

Featured Replies

Yup.  We live in a place with almost zero consumer protection statutes/laws/whatever.  Amazing that more shit doesn't happen.

I've bought a few surge protectors in Thailand. The best I have bought so far were the SurgeGuard brand with high joule ratings. A decent quality Surge protector I use in my wife's Buriram Village House is the Leonics Surge protector. Less costly, yet with quality construction manufactured in Thailand is the new Panasonic line of electric socket power strips. The Panasonic can be modest in cost yet have good quality grounded three wire cable. Certainly suitable for extra kitchen appliances in a Buriram Village House outdoor Thai kitchen counter.  The OP might consider Hubbell brand sockets when making his own electrical socket box with a grounded cable. I switched out a few kitchen appliances to this Hubbell grounded socket in 2008 and it has served me well in Isaan. I am alarmed by how many other brands will included a grounded socket in a power strip, yet only have two wires in the extension cable.
