Double bomb scare in Patong turns up duds

PHUKET:-- Frightened locals alerted police of two suspicious, possibly explosive objects found in Patong last night.

“We received reports of suspicious objects placed in two spots – one in China Town on Soi Sai Nam Yen road, and the second on Sai 2 Road in front of a nearby hotel. We ordered Patong Police officers to look into the matter,” confirmed Phuket Provincial Police Commander Teerapol Thipjaroen.

Upon investigation, officers described both the objects as being similar to ‘power banks with an incomplete wire circuit’. Col Chaiwat Auikam of Patong Police consulted with the Explosive Ordinance Disposal, who confirmed that the objects were not explosives after all.

Many times, bad guys can place devices like this to see the response time and reaction times of your emergency services.......they will just sit back and observe what you do. Then they can plan more effective attacks.

After the HuaHin double bombings, these threads should and will be investigated more profoundly.

 

 

They can come investigate me all day long.... I did investigations with ATF and State Fire Marshall's office. I know how bad guys operate. 

Just browsing through the Hua Hin news, I found this........... dud bomb full of just batteries and wires. Sound familiar?

 

Some sort of cleanup by police at the Beach Rd end of Bangla.

I'm reading in other TV threads that there was a very real blast in Patong minutes ago. Can anyone confirm?

Looks like they've blown up the little police box at the end of Bangla. Traffic stopped on Beach Rd. Pic from Richard Barrow.

were the duds a lull before the storm or used to sidetrack authorities.

I'm thinking the sand spread on beach Road may be to cover blood.

Injuries?

Sapanhin now also and more bombs were found. Better save then sorry and stay at home today.

Were there explosions at Saphan Hin? 

I didn't find anything from the news. 

Did they use the fake bomb detectors to locate them?
