How many days is the letter from the bank go for Immagration

They like it as fresh as possible at least same week

 

Dont forget before getting the letter if your book has had no activity to do something...

meaning add a few baht or withdraw...That way your book gets an update too

 

Then request letter from bank

Remember some banks take a day to turn it around as it only comes from Bangkok for some

Others can give it to you the same day just depends on bank

Normally only 3 days old. Make sure your bankbook has been updated and shows the same amount.

Usually do mine the day before i go but recently had a friend that had to go back for another as his was three days old and they would not accept it !

 

Just depends how the officer feels on the day it seems to me.

At ChaengWattana for the past few years they have insisted the bank letter be dated the same day as the application

Letters dated from the day before not accepted

So my routine has been :

Fill out application

Get queue number

Rush to my bank branch in the basement floor and make a 100b deposit

Get letter from the bank with bank book now updated with the 100b deposit

Rush to photocopy on same basement floor of updated bank book

Go back to wait for my queue number to be called (hopefully not called while I was running in the basement !!)

This isn't accurate, or at very least, not universally applied.

I did a retirement extension at Chaengwattana January of this year AND January of last year and they accepted a bank letter from the day before with no problem whatsoever (and they did so for the three extensions I did before these two as well).

 

What IS essential is the passbook update must be done the same day as the application, and the total should be the same as the letter .

Day before and show some form of movement on the book, top up withdrawal etc. Make sure the figure in the book matches that on the letter provided by the bank, cover all bases if possible.

I always get it the day before with an update showing the 800,000 baht in the book.Never had a problem but best to be sure.Some say 7 days is ok. I dont trust that option

2 years ago they wanted the same day, so my wife asked how that was possible if we had been at their office since 5am. This year I used an agent so had time to get the bank stuff done on the same day. 100b from Kasikorn on Nimman.
