BANGKOK, 19 September 2016 (NNT) -The Foreign Office of the Public Relation Department today began a three-day seminar regarding the best ways of publicizing the ASEAN Community. The seminar is taking place at the Golden Tulip Hotel from 19-21 September 2016.

Director-General Apinan Jantarungsri is presiding over the seminar which aims to develop an effective public relations plan to raise people's awareness, create better understanding among citizens, supply accurate information and consider the prospects for strengthening Thailand's image efficiently to restore appropriate levels of confidence.

He pointed out that it is crucial for authorities as a matter of policy to understand the 20-year National Strategy thoroughly, before informing the people of the government's stance and plans for the nation.

Mr. Apinan today remarked that officials of the Public Relations Department should be up to date with new technology as nowadays people mainly utilize social media to access and acknowledge information.

The Director-General also believes that the seminar should be an area for brainstorming ideas and determining goals to promote Thailand's image internationally and that of the ASEAN Community to which it belongs.

"... Director-General Apinan Jantarungsri is presiding over the seminar which aims to develop an effective public relations plan to raise people’s awareness, create better understanding among citizens, supply accurate information and consider the prospects for strengthening Thailand’s image efficiently to restore appropriate levels of confidence..."

The solution is obvious - subcontract the CDC to do the job (especially after the great job they did in the lead-up to the Referendum).

According to the Preamble in the so-called "people's" Constitution:

"...In the implementation thereof, the Constitution Drafting Committee has built public awareness and understanding of the principles and justifications of all provisions on a periodic basis so as to provide the opportunities for the public to widely access the Draft Constitution and its explanations through a variety of media and to allow public participation in the development of the content of the Draft by providing recommendations on the revision it so requires. Upon completion, the Draft Constitution has been disseminated to the public with the summary of explanations on its essence in a manner which enables the public to easily and generally understand it, and has organized a referendum to approve the entire Draft Constitution...".

So, who better than these guys to take on this new task of "...develop(ing) an effective public relations plan to raise people’s awareness, create better understanding among citizens..."?

After all, every Thai citizen had a clear understanding of what they were voting for at the Referendum, didn't they?
