Chiang Mai welcomes tourists and miss universe china 2016 contestants

  

CHIANG MAI, 31 October 2016 (NNT) – Chiang Mai has organized an annual activity entitled Check in Chiang Mai to High Season 2017 to welcome visitors to its high season. 

Chiang Mai Govermor Pawin Chamniprasat presided over the opening ceremony for Check in Chiang Mai to High Season 2017 along with heads of government offices, state enterprises and private organizations in the tourism industry at Chiang Mai International Airport and put a garland around the necks of tourists arriving in Chiang Mai. 

On this occasion, Chiang Mai also welcomed Miss Universe China 2016’ 15 contestants from TG 102 flight. The contestants will stay in Chiang Mai and do activities including making merit and learning how to fold lotus petals at Phra That Doi Suthep temple in Chiang Mai. 

The activities will be taped and broadcast in the final round on 12th November 2016 at 7 p.m. through China’s famous LeTV channel. Information about Thailand and Chiang Mai will be disseminated through Wechat, Weibo and Websites of the media and fan clubs of the contestants. 

This is a great opportunity to promote the image of Thailand and Chiang Mai to attract Chinese tourists to visit Thailand.

I own a small business in CM and and depend  mainly on Chinese tourists, I have noticed the numbers are way down compared to last year.

Think the crackdowns on Chinese tour companies and the recent visa hike for Chinese starts to pay off.

Maybe this is a charm offensive to say sorry...

The streets will be paved with gob...
