CHIANG MAI: -- Our picture shows a Chiang Mai bag snatcher called Kida, 26. He had already been inside for bag snatching before but when he came out of jail he couldn't make ends meet.

He tried a few jobs but they didn't pay enough to meet his requirements.

So he turned back to crime. This time on Tuesday he passed a female South Korean tourist riding a bike near the YMCA language school in the Chang Pheuak district, reports Daily News.

He waited ahead and as Park Song Hee cycled by he grabbed her bag that was in a basket on the front of her cycle. Then he sped off on his motorcycle.

Unluckily for him police got a lead from the number of the motorbike - 574 - which was enough with CCTV footage for them to get an arrest warrant and nab their man, full name Kida Kansuya, yesterday.

They caught him with the tourist's passport, credit card, a phone and 3,000 baht's worth of Korean won.

I'm guessing he wouldn't have done it if he had known that bag didn't contain any donuts.

What a loser , been in jail already and still go out on a robbery with a bike with licence plates ?

To dumb to learn anything i guess.

Constable Plod looks like he is just about to throttle him. Good for him if he does.

He'd need bigger hands to go round that neck.

...maybe should have kept him more than a day....???
