Windows suggestions....

I'm supplying windows for our house build and am a little stumped. In Lamphun there's Global House where most of our shopping's done so far. Not to impressed with what they have. The 3G & Wellington UPVC's look to be the better of the lot there. Is anyone familar with these & any suggestions on what to look for regarding quality, uv resistance, ect. Not looking for anything exotic, just some solid efficient windows.

Thanks!

I think the Wellington and Windsor brands that Global stock are the two best. If I am not mistaken the Wellington is imported from Australia.

Off the shelf windows are convenient if you can build a house to the modules that stores stock but i am afraid thats going to be difficult....and you can guarantee when you need one extra, or add a window later they will not have it in stock.

you may as well get made to measure and let them come and fit them job done and only 10% more than your Global house,

You will find the thai branded plastic windows are completely different sizes and lack quality in depth pof the frame and the glass.

of course glass can be changed but off the shelf you cannot pick and choose energy glass, 5mm, 6mm, uv resitant, green;brown etc etc

What you will find on the stock modules is they often incorporate flyscreens. I think this is a brilliant add on, that not all Thai suppliers include and on the made to measure they are often just screwed to the plastic frame and look crap i.m.o

Many of the imported units are double glazed, but they may not be a priority in a village setting wheras in a city it could be essential.

Its about shopping around really, but my priority here would be a robust profile on frames over 1.8 wide and an upgrade on the glass to something with heat and light reflections qualities. when you have taken notes on half a dozen window profiles or company spieles you will get a feeling of what the right quality and right price should be.

When i did my scouting around, I was all for upvc but in the end I thought they were overpriced (50% higher) compared with some of the nicer aluminium frames

Strange. I have found good aluminium to be more expensive than uPVC.

Good aluminium is indeed more expensive than uPvc, especially because it more than likely imported stuff, but some people have different ideas about good.

U used the Wellington upvc windows and doors from Global House for my garage. 5 windows and 2 doors. Windows came with fly screens.

Seemed OK for the price.

Only problem I found is some were damaged, upvc broken, which I couldn't see until unpacked....I'd watch that.

3G is the budget line of a different window company. Lynn comes to mind. PRC is not a "State" or "Territory" in Australia. Wellington joins the fine Chinese brands such as Sugo, Bison, Close, Tuf, Hummer, Pollo Tools only sold at Global House. I've had good results with the 30 day money back guarantee at Global House in Surin, Nakhorn Ratchasima, and Buriram. The original packing and the original receipt when returning to the same store you bought any product at Global House has worked well for me. Spare parts and repairs on Bison Tools, Hummer power tools, Tuf power tools, or Close kitchen home fixtures was a different experience.  Global House in Buriram does sell a decent name brand line of aluminum windows.
