@HerbalEd Are you suggesting that lottery vendors, beach chair/umbrella vendors, beach massage operations, food sellers peddling their wares, motorbike rental businesses, speedboat, jetski, banana boat businesses etc are   thieves, robbers, pickpockets, and corrupt  ?

I fully support thieves, robbers, pickpockets and corrupt officials being  arrested and convicted , there is however one  large group who are totally immune to prosecution and wield power in a very Mafia like way..... what to do about them ?

Best news I have heard for a long time.

Lets hope that they do something to recover  the money from the big operators.

they are just cutting down the tip of the iceberg, all the buildings will not be touched.

Do not be so sure. The army have been redefining the boundaries for bars and other businesses on the main roads of Samui recently , just hope they turn on the beachfront properties next. Maenam and Chaweng both need looking at !

One island down, 999 to go....

No problem there. They have got  thousands of troops with nothing to do other than attend to generals gardens etc.

Samui, Koh Phangan, Koh Tao = Surat Dems

Surat Dems = allies of the current administration

Any changes far more likely to be by mutual consent not enforcement

Think again. They recently got 'stuck in' to the Suthep family for their slight mistake as to where the boundary of their Koh Samui property really is.
