I have Triton, very pleased with it,no issues. My service history was 1st after 6 months, then every 12 months thereafter, as per the dealers instructions.
I haven't driven the Ford but have driven the Mazda BT50 which I believe is based on the same chassis, and the turning circle caused problems when negotiating the numerous tight u-turns around my area, maybe something to consider for the OP

Thats was something I was wondering about - Triton does seem to be easier to maneuver  and more car like

I like driving my Triton, very easy to manoeuvre, but like any car/truck, you should test drive first to see if it suits..

I had a test drive last week and enjoyed driving it. Nippier than the Ford. Last car I had was a Toyota sportrider which had a terrible turning circle, so it is a factor in my decision.

In the final stages of making the deal to buy the Mitsu Triton now so wish me luck, many thanks to all for your advice, it's been really helpful. I'll post details of the final deal for the benefit of future readers.

If you can afford more, the 4wd is worth a look. That system in the triton can be used on wet roads in 4wd mode, unlike many other 4wd systems of pickups. The 2wd should be fine for most purposes though.

The Ranger, I read has electric power steering like the Everest.

The Everest turning circle is exceptionally tight but I don't know if it is the same as the Rangers though.

Whatever the Mitsu seems a nice truck.

I've never thought the turning circle was bad on the Ranger. Maybe its just the previous model?

The Triton is likely a good truck but I passed on it because I still can't get past the looks. Some people like the looks but not me. I also had nitpicky views on the Mazda and Nissan. Both have raised areas on the sides of their hoods. I just didn't feel comfortable sitting in the driver's seat and feeling like my view was obstructed. My choices were left with Toyota, Ford and Isuzu. The Toyota dealer wouldn't give any goodies or substantial discounts. They treated me like a tire kicker.  Ford treated me like a tire kicker also even though I was a customer who had bought a new Focus from that dealer and continued to have it serviced there. That left me with Isuzu. They didn't have any problems with freebies and offered me a very good discount. Besides that I was treated like a VIP. I bought the Isuzu. I do think that all the Thai built pickups are good trucks. It all depends on what you like the best.
