Anti Glare Screens advice or Recommendation

Featured Replies

Over the past few months i have started to struggle a bit in work from staring at the computer screen for long periods. First thing in the morning there is no issue but by lunch my vision is starting to get a bit blurred and a little bit fuzzy and dizzy. After work, when i stop using the computer or at least the work computer my eyes go back to normal again.

I had my eyes checked by an optician and they said there was nothing wrong with them, and suggested something like Computer Vision Syndrome, and also that i should wear sunglasses and protect my eyes more from sunlight due to have wide pupils which allow a lot of light in. As part of that I am considering buying an anti glare screen for my work computer, and hope that will go someway to help this annoying problem.

Has anyone got any experience buying these in Bangkok? If so where do you buy them and would you have any recommendations in which one to acquire. Its for a desk top wide screen, rather than a laptop.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi, it is not so much the screen "glare" what is causing the effect, but the light emitted from the screen. Dimming the screen would help, using your computer with the light on might help and there is another software option on mobile phones and tablets that filters out the the blue light, which is mostly the cause of it.

I myself don't have issues with my pc, but my tablet or phone is often the cause of my bluriness.

Another simple solution might also not be computer related. Do you drink enough water? That might also be the cause. Your eyes are healthy, but if your body doesn't have enough fluid it is of great influence. I used to work for an airline and had it often as well... I was dried out!

All of these solutions are free! I would suggest to try these before buying something that might or might not help... :)

Good luck.

When I had to go to the hospital because of a serious eye condition I asked about using a computer.

The reply was that it's no problem.

What happens is people stare at the screen while using the computer and don't blink as often as usual.

The eyes dry and so don't feel like they normally do. A short time away from the screen, blinking properly, returns them to their normal state.
