Hi, I'm in the market for a battery charger or battery pack, what ever they're called.

I want it to charge my iPhone 6 and digital camera.

I saw sizes ranging from 10,000-60,000 (mml?) I don't want one that's too large and heavy and don't want to spend too much.

Any ideas, pointers, what to look out for?

Cheers

mAh (Milliampere hours).
By theory: 10000 mAh = 10 Ah -> gives 1 A for 10h.

"power banks" seems to be the popular name for those.

It's a frequent question.

The latest thread was short but some useful information in there (and not much Pattaya specific). Beware of fake stuff.

I have had several Xiaomi Mi powerbanks - easily available on Lazada.  Come in a good range of sizes and specs.

I find one of the big powerbanks is good for long trips, and a smaller 'pocket' sized one just for emergency charging for day trips, suits me.

Make sure you carry your power bank in your hand carry luggage when flying - they will not be accepted in checked luggage and this WILL become an issue in certain airports such as DMK domestic where you need to make sure your checked luggage passes screening after checking in

I would of recommended Xiaomi also as I am a big fan of them but i brought a 20,000 from Lazada last week and it charged once then was dead, so after plenty of research my new recommendation is Aukey 20,000 @ 1k or 30,000 @1500 both from Lazada

I used a fair few of these and one which I recommend is called PRODA it's a big unit about the size of a Samsung s7 and twice as thick. It's only a 10000 mah but I have used these to charge all sorts including ipad, Surface and other devices. I really stand by this charger and have two of them. Aprox 800 baht maybe 890 thb but widely available and extremely dependable.

I had MI before nice unit but performance no good for me.

I had a little beauty called Linear Flux which fitted in my wallet. Good for emergencies. An extra 20 min call time etc.

Here's an image of this PRODA unit.

I've been through quite a few external battery packs, including supposedly high-end models purchased in the U.S., as have many, many colleagues.

By far the best one has been the eloop 13, ~ 600 baht.
