Chiang Mai hit by eight minor quakes in single day today

 

CHIANG MAI:-- The Seismology Bureau today reported that Chiang Mai was rocked by eight minor quakes since after midnight until 4.00 am today.

 

The first quake of 1.2 magnitude happened 19 minutes after midnight at the depth of 4 kilometres in Mae Wang district, followed by the same magnitude quake at 01.02 am and at the same depth and same district.

 

At 01.48 am, the third quake of 1.6 magnitude happened at the depth of one kilometre in Mae Wang again, and the fourth quake of 2.3 magnitude at 02.26 am with epicentre three kilometres deep in Chomthong district.

I hope it doesn't make the main news headlines as will ruin the 'experience' (if there was one!) for all 'involved'.

 

I suppose it gives 'minor tremors' a new definition!
