January 24, 20179 yr Has anyone been to Pha Taem lately? Were you able to get the "I speak Thai and work here" discount at the main entrance? I've had problems at the Soi Sawan entrance in the past but haven't been to the main entrance forever. Bringing my yellow book, work permit, and pink card. Maybe I should bring a blood test too. haha
January 24, 20179 yr Nope, but if you really want to go see something the price of 500 or 250 Bath should not stand in the way. Seems to be a lot of work to save 16-17 bucks. Although, good luck with your intensions.
January 24, 20179 yr Author Normally I don't care by myself. But I'm paying for 7 foreigners this time so a little more pricey.
January 24, 20179 yr Be aware Pha Taem now falls into the 400 Baht bracket for foreigner adults. Over the last 2 or 3 years, there has been a very strong push from the Department to end the lenient and arbitrary price reductions for foreigners. If they are tourists and can't speak Thai, it will be difficult to get a reduction for them. The chances for you are a bit higher. You can improve your chances by immediately launching into Thai, or even better Isaan when you arrive at the gate. Crack some jokes about returning ling pheuak foong yai to the jungle. Arrive before 8. Before 8 you get the overnight yaam. After 8 you get the official ticket issuer. Yaam much more likely to be lenient. The cost for 7 adults + you = 8 x 400 = 3200 Baht. Then a vehicle on top. If you can get all in for 1600 Baht, I would say that is a score. I recently got half price (farang kid) at Phu Jong Na Yoi. Pha Taem is a more prestigious and officious Park and so I do not think you will get the 1600 Baht target.
