anyone know where you can buy steak fries (thicker cut french fries)

I only seem to find the thin cut or crinkle cut ones in most super markets?

Makro in Chiang Mai has them, so maybe Makro Pattaya

has them too, cannot remember brand ,but had Black and 

Gold label, failing that you could buy some potatoes and make

your own, I like to boil them first then fry them.

Yep, Makro on Sukhumvit definitely has them.

I've seen them in Big C Extra but their stock control will probably mean they aren't there now.

They're called chips mate, but the good news is you can make your own with potatoes and a deep pan full of oil.  Like we do in jolly old England.
