My daughters one 3 1/2 years old now is very comfortable a nice car for the money.

I believe the new City brought out after my daughters model takes E85 and some bodywork changes.

l always say to people when asked this kind of can of beans question on any new car:-  " Go and drive it and make your own mind up ".

my city is 11 years old and never missed a beat

Yes, I did just that, took it out for an hour and was generally very impressed with it, some nice toys too!! Just thought I would gain others points of view for consideration.

I've been driving the Minor Change City MY2017 for about a month now. Back when I got the car, as it was new, I wasn't able to get too many freebies and even had to fork out 3300 baht to change to seat from fabric to leather.

I'm driving the SV trim presently as I wanted a car with cruise control. The car drives great and has spacious rear seats. The boot is huge and I think will fit most day to day use without any issue. The steering wheel is sharp and neither too heavy not too light. The ride comfort feels fantastic.

Fuel economy is great on both E85 and E20, but depending on the price, it may be better to run on E20 as, like many thread have pointed out, E85  has a lower mileage.

Compared to the Mazda 2, I find the rear seats too cramped for me to bring more than 1 person out on a long drive. Coming from Ford and Mitsubishi, I find my particular Honda dealer more responsive in my questions and have been great so far.. Can't say the same for either my Ford dealer or my Mitsubishi dealer (which has now shut down).

I highly recommend you take  a test drive of both, and look at your needs carefully. I'm inclined to say as such.

If you plan to use the rear seats often and find your present Mazda rear seats too cramped then the city is for you.

If you don't use the rear seats often and fancy a Diesel engine or a fuel sipping 1.3 Gasoline engine, then the Mazda 2 is for you. Plus Mazda 2 has pretty great options as well, like the G-Vector thingy.

PS: The old City, the one before this minor change, has a better infotainment system than the present one though.

has anyone got a link to the city english page

ok found a page with the specs and using chrome and 'translate page'

Having been generally suitably impressed have gone ahead and bought one.

Picked it up today and delighted with it.

Nice quality feel to it.
