For me it is for a post that makes me laugh, good or useful info, making a good point in a thread (sometimes even if I don't agree, but if it is well made). Are there any other reasons I have missed for giving "likes"? 

I would never give a like to a post I didn't agree to no matter how well made....and the forum needs a "not like" or thumbs down and a sarcasm emoticon pretty please with cherries on top.

I use it every time I see a pop-up ad I like.  I just come here for the advertising. 

I give a like whenever anyone points out a grammar or spelling error in my posts.

 

I click the "Like" button in a sarcastic manner - but they never know.

Don't give many ' like ' don't see many posts course so many are in ' ignore '.

Have always thought there should be a couple of like options, yes I agree, good point, good joke, good information etc. Then the likes could go toward poster of the year, most informative, most humorous etc

Errr, when I like stuff

 

If someone replies to something I posted with an answer that doesn't require anything more than 'thanks' then the like is like a 'thanks' I guess.

 

Something that makes me laugh or I think is good/entertaining, whatever.

 

Something that is useful, a lot of info, even if it's not info for me but relevant for the thread then I'd often like that as someone went to the trouble of assisting someone or answering their queries. Something someone else asked that may be of use to me too.

I only do it because I agree with the post, if it is more special than that, then I give my reason for agreeing with it.
