I am looking to buy a small light laptop that you can take the lid off.

Yes, I have looked at that, I already have an Asus small laptop, it is less than two years old and I was hoping to trade it in, maybe at Fortune Town as I really fancy one that splits in two, then I won't need my Ipad 1 or my tablet anymore for watching movies in my hotel when I'm on my motorbike road trips.

TechRadar is a very dependable review site.

Don't forget that many of the lower priced computers sold in Thailand have no OS installed.  You'll either have to load a questionable Windows copy provided by the retailer or pay for a genuine Windows copy.  Of course, you could always try Linix.
