Except most of the time it is not real Viagra.  It is a "generic" form of Viagra from India or China and it is dangerous.  It looks the same and has the same packaging much of the time and you buy it from legit pharmacies thinking it is the genuine Viagra.  Thai pharmacies are full of "generic" products being sold as the real thing.  Be very careful out there.

It's good you let people know about this. Do you get the genuine one from government hospital, can foreigners buy them from Thai government hospital or may be private clinic, would thai private clinic sell the generic ones?

Geez...I thought the whole idea of taking 2 girls is based on the girls providing the stimulus to perform sexually.

No need for the Viagra...lol

Generics have the same active ingredient....they may have cheaper

fillers....You are just not paying for all the Viagra Advertising.  They

are as safe as the "Brand Name".  ( That is often counterfeited ,) find

a pharmacy you trust ).

I think there's some confusion between Generics and Fakes here in the discussion.

Anyone with a few hundred bucks worth of pill presses, a good printer, and a blister packer can put out a little blue pill that can be sold as Viagra.  But there's no telling what may be inside.

Wishful thinking, I'm afraid.

Unless it rules out any causes that could possibly harm Thailand tourism.  And then, can anyone really trust the results anyway?

RIP,

Yes, Quite possible, not even generic Viagra, these so called pharmacies sell this junk without any accountability for its impact,  it is a crude Chinese junk that sells for 5 usd a pack when real Viagra sells for 100usd. Lived here for 16 yrs and 3to 4 deaths per year due to poisonous Viagra copies from china and India in pattaya alone . Buyers beware.. Do not endanger your health and life with cheap meds.

Maybe slightly off topic but one major private hospital has switched from using generic medicine made in Canada, then to Australia and now to India ,  You might want to keep an eye on medicines you are given and where they are manufactured.  Several articles in India Times and other papers about some companies being investigated for poor quality control.

US drug companies have been spending hundreds of millions of dollars to destroy the generic drug industry in india, which is supplying a lot of vital life saving drugs at reasonable prices. It is a cat and mouse game. Dont get misled by such news, even if it is published in indian media. The indian pharma industry has quite ok standards of quality controls. Fake drugs is a different matter.

had a pharmacist tell me the same thing; he was selling the 'real things' at higher cost; so, we, the consumers just cannot know...

There is a difference between generic and a copy, Viagra is a brand name for the Generic product Sildenafil citrate. Once the patent ran out, anyone can make Sildenafil citrate and give it their own brand name. Phizer makes the Brand name Viagra, other companies make the same product as different brand names.

The same as there are lots of brand names for Generic Paracetamol, Panadol Tylanol etc

The only time its not the "real thing" is a copy, someone other than Phizer using the brand name Viagra.

As Viagra (Sildenafil) is now off patent--after it made millions for the inventors--you can get it as Thai government issue just as you can for Omeprazole and other common drugs. It's called Sidegra and costs 200b for the 4 100mg tabs. It's fine, and no different to the European version. Any drug which says GOP has been either vetted or made by the government . Chinese copies may be dodgy, but there is no need to get them.

Sidegra GOP can be bought without script in some places.

Real viagra sells for $100 in some countries due to exclusive rights being granted, the US for instance gave them a long exclusivity deal taking them to 2020, but in some countries they are not having that and it is just worth cents, just because it is cheap and made in China does not mean there is necessarily something wrong with it, there maybe sometimes with some of it, but the price is not enough to go on, it is not like it costs much to make it, the $100 is just a deal they made and will be used to pay for R&D.

Maybe I am all wrong about this. I thought that Viagra/Cialis must increase blood-pressure to have the desired effects.

- So, a person taking medication agaist high blood-pressure and taking Viagra/Cialis at the same time, wouldn't Viagra/Cialis nullify the beneficial effects of the anti-high-blood-pressure medicine?
If that should be the case...oh boy.
Hopefully I am wrong.
Cheers.

Meds and alcohol is a dangerous mix.  VIagra is just another pill with many side effects .  I am happy I don't need it to get an erection.

You need to read the link to get the fairly vital detail that he took two girls to his room.

They left an hour later.  The lower part of his body was covered with a blanket.

Many theories will stem from that situation.

That's the way I'd like to go out of this life.

Wrong. Many conditions can cause impotence that can be solved with such drugs. Prostatectomy is one such. Without a little help, many prostate cancer survivors would never get it up again.

The time to have the time of your life is in your 20's, you then won't regret that you didn't for the rest of your life, and end up trying to 'make up for lost time' as a sex-pat in a third world country popping erection pills with seedy prostitutes.

Third world country !!!!have you ever been to a third world country?

Two or three years back there was a government announcement that genuine Viagra was available at pharmacies in Thailand.   Production was increased and prices kept down, in order that people would buy the genuine article and not a cheap copy.

yes, thai pharmacies are not very ethical. lots of generic products and a tendency to oversell antibiotics, literally contributing to the potential end of humanity.

Many of the doctors aren't much better!

Whenever friends or family have gone to see a doctor because of something such as the sniffles (for example) they come back with four or five packets of different tablets and the stock standard ones seem to be; antibiotics of one sort or another, paracetamol, antihistamines, cough suppressant and perhaps something along the lines of a pseudoephedrine.

It's disgraceful and totally unnecessary.

Been quite a few of these hotel room deaths this year already. Bear in mind also that many don't make the press.

So how do you know about "the many that don't make the press" if they're aren't reported?

Is a "hotel room death" any different to any other death?

I'll respond to a belated reply to a 9 month old post.

I happen to know many hotel and guesthouse mangers/owners.

You didn't have to respond to it but you're quite right, I didn't notice that.

Usually we don't have to check the dates of threads in the news section so my post wasn't so much belated, more accurate would be Thaivisa's tendency to not give a toss about how old items are that they show as news in order to pay their bills.

I'll disregard your answer as it's so old and as it doesn't answer my question.  I don't need you to come back on this but I'd bet that the number of unreported deaths that you hear about through your many hotel contacts could be counted on two fingers, maybe, as an absolute maximum.  If you do come back on this point, in order for it to be meaningful you'd have to be specific, not just an arbitrary number.

I'd like to reciprocate, your answer reflects your user name.
