SpoliaOpima Posted March 6, 2017 Posted March 6, 2017 Has anyone here applied for a tourist visa at the Pakistan embassy in Bangkok? I'm hoping to go trekking there in July, and wondering how difficult the visa is. Thanks. I'm a UK citizen.
Langsuan Man Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 With all due respect, are you out of your mind ? Sure you can get a visa but not so sure you will survive trekking there in July Quote Foreign hostages in Pakistan source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foreign_hostages_in_Pakistan 1
dabhand Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 Reminds me of the recent 'Walking in the Himalayas' series shown on True. This is the episode that covered the Pakistan section: http://www.channel4.com/programmes/walking-the-himalayas/on-demand/61860-002 Really excellent viewing including a serious crash that meant the explorer, Levison Wood, needed a medevac out of, I think, Bhutan. 1

Yes, people from all over the world trek in parts of Pakistan, particularly Chitral and Gilgit, without a problem. But I have plenty of information on security issues. My question relates to the accessibility of tourist visas for Pakistan in Bangkok. Thanks in advance for any info anyone might offer.
hathairat2711 Posted March 25, 2017 Posted March 25, 2017 Appears to be a pretty straightforward process. Just contact the embassy for further assistance. http://www.mofa.gov.pk/thailand/content.php?pageID=consthai 1

poohy Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 Stunning part of the world been there a few times you will love it! visa is simple for Brits. no more dangerous than anywhere else nowadays IMHO
tomwct Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 Good Idea! Would you mind if I took out a life insurance policy on you before you left? I have some friends who are with a peacekeeping force called the Taliban on the Pakistani Border. They have a great resort there and you can stay for $12 US per night. They have a swim cage you might like to try. So PM me before you leave and we can visit the local office of AIA for a nice policy. I'll even kick in some maps for your journey.
dddave Posted April 10, 2017 Posted April 10, 2017 There are places in Pakistan where one can feel reasonably safe and there are places, well publicized, where you are at some risk. Just Like London and New York.
