Bike in ex-gf's name. How can I sell it ?

Featured Replies

i bought my Moped (2nd hand) in my ex-girlfriends name, about 5 years ago.

Now I want to sell it, and I am not sure what I need to do.

Me and her are still friends so it wont be a problem for her to do the paperwork.
BUT.. she did get married and currently lives in France now.

I have a Thai Drivers License.

So, should I transfer the bike to my name first and then transfer it to a new owner?

or,

Should I just sell it and organize with the new owner for my ex-gf to transfer it to him ?

any suggestions ?

She needs to sign the power of attorney form, transfer papers and supply copies of her Thai ID .   No other way around it.

do you know if they accept a printed email version of it ? because she is now living abroad.

ie:

I get the papers.

email scanned copies to her.

she fills in and signs them and scans and emails back to me.

I print them out or forward them to the correct authority,

would that work ?

Not sure,  I would go to a licensing centre with a Thai speaking person and ask them

1. prolly worth $400.

Give it to her family.

or

2. The two docs are printable from the inter web,

send her the link.maybe.

International mail.

But ya talking with an agent would be smart.

Rules vary place-to-place, &c.

3. do 1. then you can borrow later.

when the beemer is in the shop.
