Trin Nilprasert, 48, was arrested Sunday for welshing on 24 million baht meant for contractors to clear the ground for the construction of a massive flagpole in Chiang Rai province. Another chest beater only interested in self glory and the size of his bank balance.  He joins a long list of such people that the Thai's love to look up to !

"Patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel" per Dr Johnson more or less I think

Unite means to bring together and the intent of reconciliation  is to do similar with the outcome of  friendly relations - ring a bell anywhere ?  Now this Trin Nilprasert has been found out to be nothing but a fraud so I wonder if history will tell the story of others that fit the bill ?

One can make a lot of money with patriotism, just look at the military industrial complex but a flag pole is a new one and didn't kill anyone, no sympathy.
