Water pump – pressure on horizontal length

Recommended Posts

Hello folks. I would like to see automatic watering of 6 zones on our land. Each zone will be connected to 5 – 6 garden sprinklers, which I hope can spread at least 3 meters out to each side. The length from the pump out to each zone varies but in some zones the horizontal length will be close to 100 meters. The pipeline is 1” (25 mm)  The pump will be feed from a 2000-liter tank. I will use a clock there can water one zone at a time.  The pump I am looking for here will not be connected to the house but will only be used for watering the garden.

My question is what pump should I use?  I have no idea of what kind of pump I am looking for. Can I use the bigger Mitsubishi WP or EP models or am I looking for something else?

If you know, your comment will be received with thanks.

A cheapo way    I got a small pump from Global hse and it has good pressure at more than 100m l did 6 sections 2 sprays on each but l turn on each section individually, works a treat.

We have 400 m of hose divided into 8 sections (about 50 m per section) and using small sprayers that screw into the hose (after drilling a hole).  That is part of a product offering many types of sprayers that is sold at Home Hub at least.  Anyway, we run 3 sections at one time with the smallest pressure pump available at Home Hub (1300 baht).  The pump runs continuously (which is desired) and puts good pressure on (guessing) 30-40 sprayers at a time.  These sprayers are more of a mist spray but do a good soak on the intended space over the 15 minute period.  So yeah, you don't need a big pump for this type of irrigation.

What is the flow capacity at what pressure for each sprinkler?

Since I have no pump yet, I have no Idea

Kwasaki if you can do more than 100 m with a small pump then I should be okay using Hitachi 200 or 300 watt.  Thanks

The more I think about it the more I like the idea, but I live in Hua Hin and we don't have Home Hub here. Maybe Global has the small the small sprayers too, I will have a look, thanks again

horse or donkey or ass comes before the cart, you need to understand the sprinkler data before you can select a pump.

What I got was part of a "system" for irrigation.  They have hose about 3/4" diameter and with about 20 different sprayers that can hook in.  I'll look for the "brand" but I've seen similar stuff at the other "Homes" and Global probably has for sure.  I had to get a bit inventive for fixing up valves with my kit but all worked out great for our intended application.
