Hi Guys.

I'm in the market for a new water pump as my current one - 15 years old - is not long for this world.  Needs a new pressure switch and various seals replaced and is not worth repairing as the pressure tank is pretty corroded and could give up at any time.

It's an ITC Super Sumo, model HTC-125 H and I'd like to get the exact same model as then I won't need to re-jig the pipework.  This wouldn't be easy as everything is buried and tiled over.  I've been looking around but haven't seen any ITC pumps anywhere.  Plenty of Mitsubishi and Hitachi but no ITC.

So, the question is, has anyone seen any ITC pumps for sale in the Pattaya area?

Thanks in advance for any info.

I can not remind ever having seen that ITC brand.

I found some pictures on the net.

E.g. I see an ITC "GX" series.

Hitachi has a "GX" series.

Those ITC pumps looks perfectly similar to Hitachi pumps.

I suggest you take pictures and exact measures and compare in the shops.

I bet you will find a compatible Hitachi model.

Just that it will be a 150 W model (instead of 125 W), the smallest they have (as far as I know).

I did measure up the connection positions on the ITC but they do not correspond to those on either a Mitsubishi or a Hitachi of similar capacity.  The discrepancy is not that much but is enough to mean that the pipework would not fit without modification.  I haven't checked against a Panasonic yet - I've seen those around somewhere.  In extremis I shall just have to break the tiles to get at the pipes - just trying to avoid this if possible.

Thanks anyway.

If you put picture(s) maybe someone has an idea how to exchange without doing too much damage.

I might do that but I doubt that it would help.  The pump is connected by the usual blue PVC pipes so any modification requires cutting, of course.  Unfortunately, I had to replace a valve, a few years ago, and this has left no spare pipe to do anything with.  I would need to get at the outlet pipe in order to splice in a new length and this is under the tiles.  The inlet pipe is maybe not so tricky but still not easy as there is a non-return valve that takes up most of the pipe length, leaving very little room for maneouver.

I bought an ITC pump in 1998 and it lasted for years until the 2011 flood got it.  I bought it in a Ma and Pa shop but have not seen them in any of the larger "chain" stores.  You might look around in the local small shops and take a picture of what you want from the net.  Maybe they can order it for you!  Or contact these people  to find a dealer : http://www.thai-electricworks.com/15628167/ปั๊มน้ำ-itc

Thanks.  Not too many Ma and Pa shops left around where I live.  We do have a 7-11/Tesco Express/Freshmart/Mini-Big C on every corner though!

I'll take a look at the link that you provided.

It doesn't help you but in the small village in Nong Hin, Loei, a local hardware shop stocks the ITC brand. My first ITC lasted ten years and corrosion got the best of it. I bought another identical ITC from the same dealer. I'm sure that if you keep looking you will find one.

Thanks.  I don't think that I'll be going to Loei but it's good to know that the brand is still around.  I'll keep looking.

You should send Thai-electricworks an email.  They indicate the ITC HTV-125 on their web page.  They might sell it to you direct and ship it.  I buy parts and Mitsubishi units from a dealer/distributor  in Bangkok and have them shipped to me, Thai- electric might do the same with ITC products.  It doesn't hurt to ask and a reputable supplier, especially for parts, is hard to find.  Their email is in the link that I sent you.

Thanks, I've done that.  No reply yet but it is Sunday.

Update:  Gave up on the search for an ITC pump.

Bought a 150 Watt Hitachi today.  Local Mr. Fixit installed it this afternoon.  Not the neatest job in the world but it seems to work as expected.

Doctoman:  I am familiar with ITC water Pumps. They are distributed in Thailand from Tong-Thai1956 Company.  The company phone number is listed on the web site.

http://www.thongthai1956.co.th/web/index.php     Seems to me they offer a good warranty and have actual parts and service in Isaan. I saw this ITC water pump in Buriram before Songkran 2017. They are available all over Thailand, but if your local water pump shop was out of stock they could telephone the company for a pump or parts. Depending on which store sold you the Hitachi 150 watt water pump will determine if the free warranty water pump repairs are authorized by [email protected]   or by TOYOBO (THAILAND) CO.,LTD.   Only two authorized distributors of Hitachi water pumps in Thailand and they are particular about warranty repair compensation.  The serial number or warranty card indicate which company distributed the Hitachi Water Pump to any store in any province in Thailand.
