snoop1130
BREAKING: Coronation Day on May 5 is no longer a national holiday By Coconuts Bangkok A woman holds a portrait of King Bhumibol Adulyadej. Photo: Reuters The cabinet decided today to remove the Coronation Day of King Bhumibol Adulyadej as a national holiday. This means Friday, May 5 will no longer be a day off for those working for Thai companies. However, the cabinet is adding two new holidays. They are July 28, the birthday of Thailand’s current monarch King Vajiralongkorn, and October 13, the date King Bhumibol Adulyadej passed away, according to Matichon. This year July 28 and October 13 both fall on Fridays. Bredbury Blue
Thailand's late King Bhumibol Adulyadej will be cremated on (Thurs) Oct 26, a government official said on Wednesday (Apr 19), adding that the king's funeral will take place over a five-day period (channelnewsasia.com) http://www.nationmultimedia.com/news/national/30307787 My wife mentioned to me that Wed 25 - Sun 29 October will be a holiday but i can't find any reference to that. Thailand will rightly come to a stop on (Thurs) Oct 26 anyway so i can imagine that date will be a public holiday, though not sure about Wed 25 and Fri 27. Anybody know? 13 October (Friday) and 23 October (Monday) are already holidays. Edited April 20, 2017 by Bredbury Blue
