Under age

Am I being naive, I have booked into a hotel for a long time and noticed under age girls (13) being taken into rooms with adult men

together with young children playing in the swimming pool and having their swimwear pulled down by adult men.

 

I have approached the owner of the hotel, who informed me if I not like go elsewhere.. I asked for a refund of my room and was told in no uncertain terms I am making trouble and he will not refund .

 

I approached two policemen who spoke fairly good English and explained I believe under age sex is taking place, all they seemed to do was shrug shoulders saying up to them. (customers)

 

I am aware one 13 year old child is booked into the hotel as the mother is constantly going out and leaving child to her own devices.

 

 

I know Thailand is a great place for meeting ladies but under age in my book is a no goer.

 

Observations would be appreciated as I don't really know what to do as turning a blind eye is not my nature

I am the same way, last year a father Beat the living daylights out of his daughter for going into the ocean with a twitch no less than 20 times.  None of his co workers flinched a inch and I was helpless too do anything.  

In our Country this would of never happened.  Remember we our not Thai and we cannot change society of its differences.  Had I said anything I would of been beaten.  

I asked other Hi So Thais what would they have done and they said "better to do nothing".

If you really want to do something about people trafficking and paedophilia, join an NGO who targets such things in cooperation with local authorities, otherwise, mind your own business and you'll live a long and happy life.

Contact any of the local agencies that take care of children caught up in child prostitution and trafficking busts.

I wasn't telling you, just responding in a thread where the OP may still be lurking. But if you think I am sparse on local agency specifics, go ahead and name a suitable NGO for the OP to join.

Which hotel ?  Which area of Pattaya ?    Where did you find the police men?   And how do you know they are 13 years old , did you ask them ?

Believe me this is not a troll post.

 

Obviously I wont name the hotel until i am out of Thailand for fear of reprisals.

 

I invited a lady down from outside bangkok to hotel  she came for a few days and  went back and brought her 13 year old daughter to the hotel. for Songran

 

I came home one day with my lady,  to find daughter coming out of my bedroom with a man,  /i went balistic  and told lady and daughter to leave. I gave lady money to leave. she booked into room in same hotel with daughter.

 

Lady sent me many messages asking for more money or she would call police.

 

I refused and the police came and i explained to them in detail they shrugged shoulders ( the police officers had good command of english ).

 

They told the lady to go and she remains in same hotel presummingly until songran finished.

 

I am walking on egg shells at moment...

Yes, as you stated in your OP, you are naive.

 

Your OP also alludes to other male pool occupants pulling off other girls (note your use of the plural) swimwear. Now you give specific details of your lady friend and her daughter. Why on earth would you agree to share your room with a woman and her 13 year-old daughter in the first place? Your lady friend from Bangkok may indeed have issues and if she indeed is selling her daughter or otherwise doesn't care what her daughter does, that has nothing to do with the hotel but everything to do with you at this moment.

 

You have distanced yourself from this lady and her daughter but she already has the police involved. Instead of posting for advice and cadging the hotel owner for refund, you should check out of that hotel immediately.
