there's nothing wrong with a Ferrari... as long as the car is not yellow.

Not sure about that, because in those years Ferraris used more oil than gasoline, and on auctions yellow ones tend to fetch higher prices than red ones.

that just proves that money can't buy class

in 1989 i decided to get rid of my aging Porsche 928S, drove a 348 for a few days, returned it totally frustrated and bought a twin turbo Callaway Corvette for half the price which i happily owned for 11 years.

i prefer the front engine V12s

no braggart but elegant and classy. in 1989 already a pricey collector's car.

The Daytona was the worse "performance" car I ever drove, Elton John was the first owner of it, no-wonder he sold it on. It's just been sold again by my chum...

this car was not meant to perform but for a comfortable ride. if one had been available in Thailand when i sold my E-Type last year i would have most probably bought it. not to drive very often but to look at it very often

Just spent 6 hours stripping down the front brakes on my 42 year old car, now having a cold beer watching the snooker from UK, sitting here with a feeling of having done something even at my advanced years.

Local workshop will service the calipers and skim the discs then I'll put it all back together and feel good about it.

Bet you don't get that either.

???

Nope!

you were the one that called the 308 a dino and when I posted a pic of a 246 dino and said even though I liked them they were rust buckets you slagged me off and smirked over it. the 308 was the successor but wasn't the dino, I mentioned the 308GT4 so stop changing the subject and the 308 fibreglass cars were only made for 2 years so the one in the story probably isn't even one of the early ones. you obviously don't know your Ferraris and a wiki link was given but you are too stubborn to read it.

Sincere Apologies the 308GTB was the successor of the Dino's.

Still looks like one though.

Me too, at current rate of saving  and assuming an inflation per year of 2.5%.

It will take me 1025 years.

But I'll get there....

So many different reports as of then and as of now.

I read it was down on power to the previous 308 but had good reports and if you wanted the fiberglass body, get your order in quick.

Prepared to apologize again though.

I didn't realise cars could create more passionate debate than ladyboys on TVF. Maybe commercial ladyboys are missing something here. To enhance their endeavours they might make a bigger impression simply by adopting innovative names that might resonate with potential clients.  Forget names like Tiffany, Legs Akimbo  or Lapis Lazouli.   Introducing themselves with more exotic names like Hydraukic Rod, Glovebox or Plush Interior might get a few more customers'' motors revving to the red line.

Fair point well made.

'Tony Scott balanced and polished crankshaft '

has a nice ring to it.

Glad you guys for to the bottom of the Dino debate. :-) None of the Dino's left the factory with Ferrari badges, as they were not Ferrari's, or not intended to be.

And to add to the analality, the GTO was 288, not 308. Probably in my opinion the ultimate car in respect of being able to look both elegant and muscular at the same time. Beautiful!!
