"REIMAGE" seems classified as a virus or trojan.

Best Google how to remove REIMAGE.

NEVER "Fix Issues Now".

Better pull the plug.

thank you all.

Also implies that my ANTIsuperSpyWare did not catch it!!

Question: it showed up the screen but I didn't click on it------meaning

PC already infected ---or only after clicking?

Closing the window is not good enough?

In a way it is infected.

This REIMAGE is "AdWare" which intends to direct you buy/install all kind of stuff (as seen in the message).

So up to now it is only annoying (not like a virus) and closing the box should be ok.

But it's really recommended to get rid of this stuff.

The AdwCleaner described in post #4 seems to do the job.

I can not give recommendations as I can not even remember when I was last hit by such stuff (must be 10 years ago or so).

Well, there's your problem.  The software you have is ANTI-SuperSpyWare.  The software you want is SUPER-AntiSpyWare   ;-)

Question=  would this be even better?  But only if it also takes care of normal cleaning jobs,

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Cleanup Utility

The Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Cleanup Tool allows you to completely uninstall Malwarebytes Anti-Malware in the event that you are unable ...

This is just to remove Malwarebytes Anti-Malware from your system(?).

Hi, I got the exact same dialog saying "REIMAGE: Important Notice" today after windows update.Grrr.... It is not clear if windows update has caused it. This is obviously annoying me and my time.

However I am currently working out how to remove it via malwarebytes and avira.....Did you manage to remove it yet?

The outcome - Malwarebytes have detected & removed the reimage bug successfully. I also remove reimagesetup.exe from download file manually as well. So I assume you can resolve too.

Good advice in this thread.  To boil it down to two steps:

1)  DO NOT respond to these things, even if (and especially!) if it offers its own Cancel  button

2) figure out where it came from and clean it up

I once had a piece of nasty-ware called GoogleUpdate.exe that, when activated, started to download files to turn my system into a dating website.  When looking through my old backups I discovered the crap had been sitting on my C: drive for months.
