Sending drugs back home?

Featured Replies

I have a prescription and wanted to send a supply back home to save a bit of money. Will this be a problem in Thailand with customs? I asked a pharmacy and a drug company if they could ship to me and they said no.

The only problem I foresee is if the drug in question is a controlled substance (i.e. only available by prescription) in your home country, and your prescription does not specifically cover the amount of it that will be in your suitcase...you could run into trouble with customs entering your country.  Is the prescription from Thailand or your home country?

No Thai company or pharmacy that I know of is going to mail overseas to a private individual.

Whether brought by you as accompanied baggage or mailed by you to yourself:

If controlled substance will fall afoul of Thai laws.

Otherwise, main issue is not Thailand but the laws of the country you are bringing/sending it to.
