Recently picked up a 2010 VW GTI, great little package, already came with a stage one tune and full exhaust, but inevitably want more power.

Plan is to order a garrett GT2871R turbo kit from a german company called dbilas which will cost about 65k baht. Even with just the stock fuel system, the setup and turbo should make around 350-380whp depending on fuel used. Problem I am having is finding someone who is capable of tuning this setup. Will need a custom big turbo tune plus a DSG tune for the auto gearbox to handle the extra torque. So far have found the following option to be the best:

Order a COBB accessport with custom pro-tune option and do the whole thing remotely from a company from the USA = 30,000 THB

Order a Unitronics stage 2 DSG flash and do the whole thing at home via their cable. 25,000 THB

Total cost 60,000-65,000 (shipping and possible customs 'fees' 5,000-10,000 THB)

Anyone know any other options within Thailand or abroad?

I found a shop called Autowerks that use mcchip-dkr products but not sure if they can do custom tuning for a bigger turbo and ethanol based fuels. Will message them to know more. There are the usual big name companies like unitronic, Revo and APR, but they all charge a fortune. Smaller Thai ones like Motion Garage, Getttuned etc but don't really know?

Thanks for the input.

Gunther Ritter ECU Thailand if it has a turbo ...google ecu thailand ............

Thanks for your reply. The car already has a stage one tune from this guy and the pedal box thing. I was not aware they could do custom tunes and DSG tuning?

Found my car on their facebook page:

300+hp on DSG isn't a great idea... The extra torque will tear it apart pretty quick. I had a customer with Lancer X last year on which some "tuners" installed a turbo kit, gearbox fell apart after a week of use, we had to custom build manual one for the car.

DSG on the VAG platform has been proven to handle this power by multiple tuning companies. Not an issue at all.

If that's so then mapping both DSG and engine shouldn't be a problem. Are bigger injectors included into the kit you've mentioned earlier?

Yes the DSG tune removes the factory torque restriction and increases clamping force.

No injectors included but as I said the stock fuel setup is good for up to 400whp.

I plan to tune with E30 fuel so should make decent power but doubt the turbo will flow enough to warrant upgrading the injectors or fuel pump.

Golf being a very popular ride I guess there are plenty of mappers in Europe to order remapped files from, it's just a matter of fine tuning them particularly for your car after ~10-300 km. And, of course, writing them into the car.
