Retrospective bans for diving in 2017/18 EPL

I'm all for limiting diving, but the inevitable subjectivity will create a storm at times. Will have to see if its a case of watch what you wish for !

Trial by media most likely will occur.

Even in slow motion, it sometimes isn't conclusive if a player has dived or not. These players have turned it into a 'fine art'. Clubs will have to trim their staff and get rid of the 'diving coach' now.

Not quite related but what i would like to see the end of is this stupid policy of kicking the ball into touch when an opposition player has clearly feigned injury to stop play and allow his side to regroup.  Irritates the hell out of me.

Some of them are inconclusive which you can't do a lot about but purely the fact that the player knows he can get done if caught will surely act as a deterrent hence there should be a lot less be it inconclusive or conclusive.

Yeah, I hope that the deterrent will be enough to put most of them off diving. Don't think there will be that many going to the panel for retrospective.

Wonder which will win? The lure of a penalty possibly gaining 3 points or the possibilty of a ban? Wonder what the prem managers in private will be saying? Ide go ,, nothing much will change, or maybe the players who  are bad at enacting will get told to cut it out , probably through ridicule as much as anything but the others that are good at it will carry on as per but in the rest of football,, imo it'll probably have a positive effect

Yeah, you can retrospectively ban the diver, but what about the three points the opposing side lose because the referee  mistakenly gave a penalty in the first place?
