Oreo as the name for the next version of Android, as speculated in the above news report? They've got to be kidding, seeing this dictionary definition of Oreo:

Who knows, perhaps the Oreo trademark owner made Google an offer they could not refuse.

Are there other well-known sweets that have a name, but not trademark, starting with the letter P?

They used Kit Kat for "K" in a licensing deal with Nestle. It can be risky for the brand holder though if something goes horribly bad. Maybe Mondelez (delicious world?) wants to avoid that potential sort of association?

I can see a swerve off of sweets, as this is version 8, maybe "Octo".

These started off as internal code names which maybe had more cachet early on; not sure if this is as important these days?
