ad61 Posted May 23, 2017 Posted May 23, 2017 I would like to swap the clip-ons handlebar of my Stallions Centaur 250 max for a tracker style bar. There is no holes in the top triangle of the direction column so I wonder on how to fix the handlebar clamps.Any help would be greatly appreciated [emoji120] Sent from my SM-A710F using Thailand Forum - Thaivisa mobile app
Anythingleft? Posted May 23, 2017 Posted May 23, 2017 If you have no drillings in your existing upper bracket you need to replace it for one that has to receive the bar risers. It is possible to drill the holes yourself if the upper bracket is substantial enough to be modified, but, not advisable if you dont know what you are doing....Trying to find a straight replacement upper bracket might be a headache but try someone like K-speed on the internet Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk

Markc Posted May 24, 2017 Posted May 24, 2017 ad61, I am wanting to do the same to mine. I have seen several pictures of conversions done by a couple of custom shops around Thailand which look pretty good. I am heading to Khon kaen next week (I am in Mukdahan) to visit a custom shop which has done some conversions on this bike from what I can see on their facebook page. Which area of Thailand do you live? I will give an update next week .
ad61 Posted May 24, 2017 Author Posted May 24, 2017 Markc, I, unfortunately, live far away from them (Ranong). I've been in contact with them (Zeus custom Khonkaen) yesterday evening. They told me that I would need to drill holes on my upper bracket in order to fix the handlebar clamps. Looking forward for your updates.Sent from my SM-A710F using Thailand Forum - Thaivisa mobile app
MartinL Posted May 25, 2017 Posted May 25, 2017 At first glance, the Stallions Tracker 150 seems to have the same forks as the 250 and to use tracker-style bars and the top yoke is equipped with handlebar clamps. Maybe see if you can source the top yoke from the smaller bike if the yokes turn out to be interchangeable. Don't forget there's a good chance you'd have to extend throttle & clutch cables and the hydraulic brake line, not to mention electrical cable to 'bar switches. I'd be wary of drilling a top yoke designed for clip-ons. It's be a source of weakness - top yokes I've looked at over the years have always been cast with built-in strengthening in the area of the drillings, something yokes for clip-ons might not have.
ad61 Posted May 26, 2017 Author Posted May 26, 2017 Thanks a lot MartinL, I'll take your recommandation into consideration before doing anything. Sent from my SM-A710F using Thailand Forum - Thaivisa mobile app
Markc Posted June 5, 2017 Posted June 5, 2017 Photos not the best but new bar, exhaust and seat installed.
ad61 Posted June 5, 2017 Author Posted June 5, 2017 Looks great Markc!Did you had to change your throttle & clutch cables? Sent from my SM-A710F using Thailand Forum - Thaivisa mobile app
In the jungle Posted June 5, 2017 Posted June 5, 2017 Make sure to leave the plastic on the seat for at least a decade. It's a local tradition.
VocalNeal Posted June 5, 2017 Posted June 5, 2017 So Markc, Did you put new top yoke on or drill holes?
Markc Posted June 6, 2017 Posted June 6, 2017 The existing top yoke was drilled. Seems a fairly substantial piece of metal so I have put my trust in the Mechanic Almighty 555
