Capacitor for submersible well pump control box.

Featured Replies

Khon Kaen city or Nahm Pawng. We bought the pump and control box at DoHome so I assume they have replacement capacitor but it doesn't always work that way here. Anybody know if these are available?

If you can read the
value of the capacitance on the side of the capacitor, then you will have all the info. to Google it or ta'll to the manufacturer or agent.

How do you know it's the capacitor?

The simple answer is that they are.  They're pretty ubiquitous and I can find one within the first 2 or 3 hardware or electrical shops I'd visit in BKK.  But you're in KK.

Get the voltage and farad rating off the unit, along with the dimensions and just buy a backup now, before it's urgent.  They usually crap out 5 minutes after the shops close for a long holiday.  Just put it on your list o' stuff to be on the lookout for.  I have found a cell phone photo to be very handy since I don't speak Thai.

You may also try searching Lazada, AliExpress or the RS online shops if you don't enjoy scrounging in the markets.  Can't say I've bought capacitors, but they do have some handy items.

Apparently it wasn't the capacitor, I found one yesterday and the pump still doesn't work. Time to call the local well guy.

Sorry if this sounds bad, but I don't mean it that way....did you check the circuit breaker? Sometimes you can't see if they've tripped. Turn it off and on again.

There's power to the control box so that's not it.

Yes probably right to call the well guy. But if you have a meter, you could check if the power is going to the pump.

All fixed, the only thing I didn't check was the switch and that was the problem. Oh well, now I have a spare capacitor.
