Popular Post quandow
Went to get my annual "retirement visa" and do the 90-day check-in. Got there Thursday 7:55 a.m., there was one uniformed guy at the desk who was completely helpful, out at 8:31 as they didn't start the desks until 8:30. Picked up the next day perfectly on time, then walked over for the 90 day check-in. Again no additional paperwork, no "what is your email and social media" form, done in under a minute. The re-entry permit was a little more trouble. The guy right in front of me upset the lady at the desk and I could see the look in her eye that this bozo wasn't going to get the swift service he was rudely demanding. That added 35 minutes to MY stay. Note to all: More flies with honey!!!

OJAS
But, on a negative tone, a pity that they seem so uncooperative when it comes to processing non-O conversions and so over-zealous in enforcing the TM30 requirement according to various recent reports on here. That must surely take the sheen off their gloss somewhat.

In general, this is correct. They have at least two female mental cases that delight in abusing farangs with rudeness and raised voices.
balo
Only sweet and nice ladies at Jomtien immigration , compare it with Chiang Mai where they try to bite you. Edited June 25, 2017 by balo

On the whole though Jomtiem sounds like it is doing well and providing a great service. Glad I don't live in Chiangmai!!
Popular Post soisanuk
I went into Soi 5 Immigration Office on Wednesday last week at 8:20am, number 3 in the queue, they started processing as usual at 8:30am, I was finished and going out the door at 8:36am - very quick when you have all your documents ready. I picked up passport following day, no waiting. I then did my 90 day report, no one else waiting, took about one minute to do report (passport and bar coded previous report is all that is needed). This was same experience I had last year, but it took a few minutes longer because I was number 6 in the queue - finished and out at 8:40am. Of course, this is low season and they are not as busy as they are during high season - wait time is longer because they are usually crowded and very busy. Popular Post little mary sunshine
Wonderful, knowledgeable, polite staff. I wish some of the Westerners would dress more respectable when they visit A Government Office, they embarrass themselves and their Country.
Popular Post murraynz
i seriously object to dressing up in long trousers for immigration----is this really just image nonesense that some people imagine is necesary...dressing up does NOT shoe respect, thats utter crap, but of course we should dress neat and tidy....what do others think ???
ubonjoe
This topic is not about a dress code at immigration. There have been plenty of other topics about it. Any further discussion about it will be removed.

Hans Rayong
In Immigration Rayong you walk in, apply for one year Retirement Visa and Multiple Reentry and walk out 30 minutes later with your passports and stamps.
how241
My recent retirement visa renewal was also quick and pain free...No one was rude and everyone was smiling and helpful. In and out in 10 minutes, pick-up tomorrow took 4 minutes.

bushwacker
This sounds like good service but certainly not Rocking it. My local immigration office in central Thailand offers fast, polite service and I get my extension usually within 30 minutes the same day. I would feel very uncomfortable having to leave my passport over night. The ladies at my immigration office are very fast at reviewing the forms, and stamping the passport so there is no need to wait 24 hours. They also complete the 90 day on their own without me requesting it. Exit/entry permits will add another 5 minutes. Now that is Rocking it.
