PHUKET: A woman wearing only underpants and a T-shirt has escaped serious injury after the pickup truck she was driving spun out of control in heavy rain in central Phuket just after midnight this morning (July 8) and struck a tree – which ripped the cab from the pickup and tore the engine out.

Rescue workers were called to the scene of the accident, near the main intersection to turn off to Nai Yang Beach, at 00:45am.

Trapped alone in the cab of the pickup was Karnpicha Kanapoom, 23, from Surin province.

Rumour has it she was wearing a G-string that was on back the front, lucky girl to have survived, as for the rumour, well, its just that.

Jeez, do you think speed could have been a factor????  :whistling:

And these are the type of drivers heading towards us in the opposite direction, everyday.

I suspect she has what could definitely be classified as a soiled pair of undies. Truly amazing and stunningly lucky young lady if not so.

Lots of girls wear just panties under long shirts. Why is it a headline as if it was a cause of the accident?

Dunno! Maybe if she was high on speed it would explain why she forgot her shorts.

Should make a law against wearing underwear whilst driving.

Well the ambulance people would have had one more gash, possibly bleeding, possibly not, to cover up if your idea had been law it would seem.

When the call came in, the ambulance guys rushed to the scene.

Never mind her clothes I suspect to survive an impact like that she must have been wearing a seat belt.  If she was, sensible, and lucky, her

Jeez. Driving while wearing undies really does tarnish Thailand's reputation. I hope she is charged.

Her brief moment in the limelight.

Thank goodness she didn't decide to take the scooter that time.  Even a helmet and full leather wouldn't have saved her, never mind half dressed.

Is it my eyes or is there no or very little tread on this tire. I wonder it if that could have had anything to with her loosing control on a wet road.

Think it has tread but probably the "mandatory" 60psi in it...

When I read the headline I first thought it was a man wearing women's underwear........:w00t:

Her Guardian Angel was certainly looking after her though. Happy she got out, and hopefully learnt a few lessons...

for the truck to be ripped apart like that she had to be driving at an extreme high rate of speed being really high herself she didn't die.

If speed was a factor, expect the police to give her a good dressing down. Wont take long apparently.

Lucky she didnt crash into the infamous Pattaya nicker nicker as the rescuers may now be suffering from tunnel vision

Yeah, but. . .

It made you read the story. Thats the art of headline writing.

A very pissed off tree. They can be quite strong, these Ents.

Not necessarily.  Thais are renowned for their "cut and shunt" bodges.

Easy to calculate the speed from the length of the skid marks....

on her pants.
