CHIANG MAI: -- One man was slightly injured and three cars were damaged at Chiang Mai’s Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep on Monday morning when a large tree battered by heavy rain fell on them.

The tree in the parking lot collapsed at about 7.30am after what residents described as heavy rain earlier in the morning.

The temple is in Mueang district’s Tambon Suthep.

Motorist Sompong Promkaew, 40, was injured when the tree fell smashed into the roof of his parked car while he was sitting inside.

A branch also broke a tap-water pipe used by the nearby community.

woo hoo - one is having a deja vu flashback from 1995

My 626 was one of 7 vehicles all done in by the one tree, just like in that photo...

...same impact angles too

If any of these cars did not have that 'dot-dot connect-dot' temple drawn under the sun-visor, I'm definitely getting one!
