Tour guide arrested over suspected wallet theft at airport

By The Nation

BANGKOK: -- Suvarnabhumi Airport police Friday arrested an assistant tour guide for allegedly stealing the wallet of a Thai passenger waiting to depart the airport.

Pol Colonel Chutrakul Yosmadee, commander of the Suvarnabhumi Airport police station, said Yutthapan Lampha, 54, was arrested on the fourth floor at the check-in counter.

Police found a wallet with an identification card and driver’s license belonging to Thitipol Sunthornij. It also contained Bt5,060 and 60,000 yen in cash.

Earlier, Thitipol alerted police at the airport that his wallet was gone. Police checked footage of CCTVs and found that the wallet slipped from his trousers pocket. Yutthapan, a guide assistant of a tour group, later picked it up and walked away, the video showed.
