Bluetooth technology and streaming have replaced the CD for most car buyers. Haven't used mine in a year. I also have Sirius XM and listen to talk radio a lot.

Whilst I do like storing and playing my music from USB sticks in the car rather than carrying dozens of CD's (which are all back in the mother country in storage) It would be great if MP3 disappeared and was replaced by a lossless format, all my music is FLAC and ripping it to MP3 for the car has noticeable differences in quality.

as a side note, does anyone happen to know if the dvd players fitted to cars (in particular the new Pajero) are regional or will play the knock offs from the market?

Might be missed by those that have a huge CD collection that they like to play in their car.

Put it all on a "stick".

A lot of my music is now in the FLAC format and there seems to be a huge improvement in quality compared to Mp3 in particular, but i still don't know if ,or how , i could put it on a flash drive ,or even hard drive, and play it without having VLC , or other, installed program installed somewhere in the system . My brain does not compute if this is possible.

At the moment when i drive, i drive without music and i just listen to the wind and the road noise, the rattles of this vehicle that seem to increase daily , the clatter and arguments inside my brain , the curses of the other "better" drivers and their angry horns and the dominating noise of  my wife telling me how to drive. Theoretically can life get any better than this?

Let me guess, Ford don't?
I thought I saw another manufacturer who decided that they would no longer sell inferior crap in Thailand.

But, yes. When I bought my truck 2 years ago, the Wildtrak and the Everest were the best vehicles in terms of safety features available here. The WT was the only truck to offer 6 airbags and all the driver aids that anyone who cares about their loved ones would consider when buying.

They said/say that CD doesn't have the quality of vinyl...personally I think digitally recorded, mixed and reproduced sounds just as good if not better.
The first Analogue to digital conversion is essential, garbage in garbage out.

IMHO Mp3 @ 320 kbps easily match CD quality.

No I don't have a thousand pounds to spend on a gold plated oxygen free copper speaker cable or 10,000 for a set of speakers !

I have seem turntables in some show cars. Not sure how they work. 5555

When did they stop putting ashtrays in cars? 5555
