Mine have been instant, as soon as pick up driver scans return label. It shows in my 'wallet'. One reason that I only (usually) deal with 'LAXMALL' vendors. Another is refund is never refused, even for simply changing my mind. Then if refund is a large amount, simply transfer the refund to my bank account, also done within a few days.

Pink I.D Card & Yellow Book
KhunLA replied to Bangkok Black's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Only time I'm asked, for passport at hotels, is if we stay at a chain hotel, which is always ibis, since pet friendly. They rarely ask for passport, though have occasionally. Pink ID or DL is enough, but I do have an Accor account # which we usually book with. -
Actually it got worse, with congestion, no parking, and price increases across the board. Only good additions, are BluPort & Market Village. Use to be a regular stop for us, a short wee, about 15 yrs running, then down to, 1 or 2 nights, and then points beyond southward. About 4 times a year during school breaks Now it's simply a pitstop, munch & quick shopping on the way back home, after a visit to Krung Thep. We're only 100 kms away, and we don't bother with HH much. Pop in a few times a year when driving by, and once for Immigration (extension).

Not sure about that, using the ZS (ZS & VS are similar size) Closer to the HS, as wheelbase is a bit telling ... Most are assuming it is a revamped ZS. Although, I'm leaning toward discontinuing the ZS EV, since a hybrid is coming out for 2025. Same with the MG3, now as a hybrid. Maybe they want the BEVs to be a separate designated model. Pink I.D Card & Yellow Book
KhunLA replied to Bangkok Black's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I use quite often, when anyone asks me for ID, like guesthouses. Rare they ask, as wife does the checking in. If need to give someone my name & address, it's easier just to hand them my pink ID instead of talking to them. If someone asks for my passport, I'll hand them pink ID first, and 9 out of 10 times, that will satisfy. Less people handling my passport, the better. Yellow book is way too handy, when needing to prove your address to govt offices / services, or utility companies. -

What are you having for Dinner tonight?
KhunLA replied to bob smith's topic in Western Food in Thailand
A first for me, Smoked Salmon. Can't say there will be a 2nd time. Wife not a fan either. Not a bagel fan, prefer Croissants. Also prefer without the salmon. Just cream cheese & black currant jelly on the other half. Good thing the dog likes the salmon, as she'll be eating the rest. Hey, it was sale at Makro for 399 vs 690. Figured why not ... now I know -
Agree, although, IF, you get your full yearly check ups, then you shouldn't have any unexpected surprises. Plan accordingly, risk factor and how far you want to be away from a 'trauma center'. Helps to know what your local hospitals actually offer, especially if they have a cardiologist on staff or has privileges. That info is readily available, simply ask.

Pink I.D Card & Yellow Book
KhunLA replied to Bangkok Black's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
It's quite simple, or was for me at Udon Thani (muang), and Prachuap Khiri Khan (muang). Need who ever holds the 'Blue Book' of house, to simply authorize you issued a yellow book. Then in same office, for me, walk over and have Pink ID issued. Only think I needed was my Passport. edit: I didn't need to be married, and was not in Udon Thani for 2 yellow books. -
Homemade bread (100% whole wheat), homemade ham, homemade kefir milk, all I need now is a few chickens

I have, and used jackhammers. Nothing difficult, especially when you have years to do it. Just add the dirt to the garden, or dispose of elsewhere. All too easy. Doesn't have to be a deep hole, as going to cover with concrete anyway. Actually doesn't have to be a hole at all. Could just stack 'em, and encase them in concrete, and have yourself a concrete workbench in the basement

Organic Foods
KhunLA replied to IsaanAussie's topic in Organic Farming, Smallholding and Kitchen Gardening
Only true organic foods I trust, are from our garden & greenhouse. Try to buy & eat whole foods, any thing else, from raw materials prepared at home. Or store bought with a label, of less than 4 +/- ingredients. Ingredients represented by #s, or something generic (natural flavorings), or can't even pronounce ... yea, big pass -
... " And how does this thai wife thing even work? I just go to Bangkok or Pattaya and start asking hookers to marry me? " Somedays you wonder why you bother with AN, then you get a nice nice chuckle with your morning coffee Now over to the non Yanks giving USA politics & voting advice. Afterwards to the ICEV owners telling the EV owner about their poor decisions. You'll never get ROI on EVs or Solar

This why you don't get advice from friends, but strangers on a forum are so much better As @Will B Good pointed out, all great reasons to rent. 1. You aren't buying anything. (unless it's a condo) 2. If relationship fails, you have no rights to sell. It's his / hers, not yours 3. Only an idiot buys a house on leased land, as only an idiot would buy it from you. Most idiots don't have money to buy stuff. Your options, rent, or buy a condo. You're not even married. How old are you , and do you plan on living 30 more years. Have kids, as who are you passing it on to? Your post screams of a relationship, that you're not sure will last, and statistical wise, it probably won't. Tell her you decided to buy a condo, in your name only, as see how she reacts. That might be very telling.

For those wanting a solution, if I had outage problems, I'd definitely get a solar generator. Here's a site that will give you a clue, how long things, like a fridge would run, with just a 1+kwh battery solar generator. I reckon this is the important one. Although, if full, our freezers would definitely last at least 8 hrs, as basically an ice box, filled with frozen food. IF thawed, simply cook it on gas hob. Don't think there is any house in TH, that is all electric.

It makes no sense to buy a new vehicle, if knowing you be gone in 2-3 years, unless you just simply want one. Just decide what your budge is, and what's available in that budget. Could be a comfy used ICEV, or even a new BEV, PHIEV, for the same price, or a used EV for half the new price, but sill like new. If 2nd hand, I'd buy from a city, district, province that isn't prone to flooding.

'Mostly', used to be drone parts or whole drones. Easily 100+ orders. Now it's everything and anything we need, for everyday living, toys and or hobbies. From food, to everything needed to produce your own food, to cooking & preparing it. Phones, electronic, kitchen appliances, water heater, . Cameras and equipment, all things for sewing, making clothes, from needles to material. List really is endless. Everything to make an ebike, vitamins, pharmacy. Easier to ask what the few things we buy from brick & mortar shops ... Even Ganga ... got more here than I can smoke, since I stocked up and don't indulge much
