I tried livng very cheap for 1 month

Most of the 15kg are obviously water (unless OP was 200kg before :p) but of course still nice, for sure a few kg of fat too.

Living one month on 15k is not difficult, get a cheap room (Maybe 4000 + water/ac), eat Thai food in the restaurants at the street (you still have about 300thb per day for this, more than enough) and you are good.

It becomes a problem when you have to live from it all the time, because then you you also need to make bigger investments with this little money (Phone, laptop, Motorbike, clothes, visa runs, health insurance and so on), so you would have to put at least 100THB (maybe not enough) aside each day for this.

15kg a month is possible.  He mentioned the heat so if he is a sweater and not eating much, it can be done.

But 15,000 b a month no way if you are a ladies man.  If you are watching porn and doing your thing then yes.

But if you are meeting ladies regularly, seems very very difficult.

IMHO the main achievement of the OP is the 15kg weight loss. The rest of it sounds quite boring, although I suppose I would have been operating under the same financial constraints if I had stayed in Australia.

I spend the same amount as I would in Australia; however, here it goes a hell of a lot further.

Depends on your age, looks and how good you are at talking. With the right ingredients you don't even have to buy some food for the girls ;)

Well i got his 15 kg weight. thanks .... now I'm 15kg heavier ....

Well good luck with your journey. I don't think i could do it.

As long as you stay away from alcohol and girls it's actually easy, you need accommodation that's high up so air can flow freely then you don't need airco just a fan,go to the market for fresh fruit and vegetables and salad stuff eat Thai and avoid all imported stuff.you really can eat for a few hundred baht a day, in survival mode in Jomtien and away from pattaya beach and second Rd walkingstreet you can just survive on 15,000 a month ,it would cost a lot more to go to a so called de-tox resort on Samui,if you need to lose weight it might be the way to go,time to get rid off excess baggage you don't need stuff.

Probably even cheaper if you avail yourself of food kitchens, dosshouses and other free services offered to homeless people. No one has to starve in Australia. You'll even get free medical treatment if necessary.

The catch with the free medical treatment is the waiting period. With private health insurance, there is no wait. A guy I used to work with did not have private cover. Had to wait in pain for 18 months before a surgeon could do his hip replacement.

You're kidding again, right? A PSA test here would probably cost less than in Australia.

LOL> as a tourist, you'd have to be in need of emergency treatment to get medical assistance. They would do their best to recover the costs though, but you can't squeeze blood out of a stone.

Yup, I've actually had a lot of Thai girls pay for dates, I mean they didn't even give me a chance to pay and when I offered the money they didn't accept it.

I live on a budget here just so I can stay longer, never affected me meeting girls often.

No free medical treatment for non-residents, unfortunately. In an emergency, there would be no choice. Even a cheap Charlie would be able to afford basic cover travel insurance if they can afford a ticket to Australia.

If you lost 15kg in one month, then you have AIDS.

You can't safely lose more than 4kg in a month.

Catch dengue fever and you'll eat your words. I lost about 10kg in 3 weeks. Looked better but felt bloody awful!

"you can't safely lose more than 4kg in a month" was the qualifier. You lost yours due to sickness.

Surely it depends on your starting weight.

When I started using a gym in UK I lost 8kg in 2 weeks (103-95), and felt great.

My daily weight could easily fluctuate 1-2kg / DAY...

My daily weight can also fluctuate by 2kg... if yours did, you could have lost only 4kg (101 - 97). Most of that was probably in your bowels and water weight. 8kg of fat metabolises to 7700 x 8 = 61,600 kcal. That would be 4400 calories burned up per day (extra) for 2 weeks. The OP would have had to burn an excess of 3850 calories per day to lose 15kg of fat in 30 days - that's impossible no matter how much walking he did in the hot sun. If you worked hard and didn't eat properly, you'd lose muscle weight too. A 200 lb person would burn about 240 calories per hour at a brisk walking pace, so to burn 3850 calories you'd have to walk 16 hours per day.

Yes, almost unbelievable.

Entirely believable. I once lost 30kg in 6 weeks, and kept it off mind you. Starting weight of 146kg.

I ended up at 105 before returning to a fit 120kg.

At my heaviest I was 179kg (160 in first pic)

I lived in the sticks on 15 to 18'000 Bht VERY comfortably (smoke & beer included).
But in Pattaya?

I would feel like the little girl around christmas, looking at all those beautiful toys in the stores, but not having the money to buy any of them.

On such a tight budget, not wanting or needing to buy any "toys", Zimbabwe or eastern Timbuktu might be an alternative to Pattaya.
Cheers.

LOL> nah ... looks like one of those weight loss ads claiming impossible things - didn't want to get into it. Whatever I said about 15kg in a month is applicable here, only more so.

Instead of buying cheap lunch, you could end up AS lunch over there...

Minimum salary in Thailand is 300 Baht per day, so if working 27 days per month they get 8100 Baht. And even not all get the minimum pay, specialle cheap workers from Myanmar, Laos and Cambodia. So many Thais and foreign workers live with about half of the "cheap way".  Would like to see him living this really cheap way.
