Anyone know where to buy reasonable scooter batteries?  A friend priced one at 700 baht which I thought was high. I live in Klong Toey district. Thanks.

Just go to one of the many motorcycle shops. Often they have batteries from Thailand, China and Japan. The Japanese are normally the best and the most expensive.

One shop is i.e. in Sukhumvit Soi 22 when you come from Sukhumvit and drive in direction Rama 4 the shop is maybe 200m before the bend to the left. I recently bought there a battery for about that price. Best is you take the scooter to the shop to make sure you get the battery you need.

A good quality one cost me 600 deep in the sticks.

A "cheap" one would have been 400 or so.

So 700 is not excessively expensive.
