Kickstand Posted October 11, 2017 Posted October 11, 2017 Can anybody recommend a good doctor and/or hospital in Khon Kaen for a hernia repair? Thanks Sent from my SM-G532G using Thailand Forum - Thaivisa mobile app
jackdd Posted October 11, 2017 Posted October 11, 2017 Does the price matter? There is a Bangkok Hospital in Khon Kaen, i've never been in this one, but i think in Bangkok Hospital you can't do much wrong, but this comes of course with a price. Other hospital can be good too and are probably cheaper.
Eric1949 Posted October 12, 2017 Posted October 12, 2017 Try the Khon Kaen Ram hospital, opposite the Central Plaza. I had a hernia op there 10 years ago. It's fine.
KhunBENQ Posted October 12, 2017 Posted October 12, 2017 I assume you have an insurance to cover the cost. In this case Khon Kaen RAM is indeed a convenient option. The surgery might be done by the same doctor as at Sri Nakarin (Srinagarind) University Hospital. Just with better assistance and accommodation. I can not comment on Bangkok Hospital Khon Kaen. Just that a mate told me that they have the same problem as others: having qualified doctors on-site during daytime. They also rush from their duties at Sri Nakarin or other public hospitals to start making money at the private clinics/hospitals after 5 PM and on Saturdays/Sundays.
Kickstand Posted October 15, 2017 Author Posted October 15, 2017 Thanks for the replies. I will check them out.Sent from my SM-G532G using Thailand Forum - Thaivisa mobile app
kenjinuk Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 I have been inside several in KKn but I say Ratchapruek hospital is about the best, my wife has worked there and recommends it.

Thanyaburi Mac Posted October 21, 2017 Posted October 21, 2017 Open surgery, or laparoscopic, big difference in cost, and recovery time. Ask around, Mac
