Your choice of tbp.org offers you XMR mining as a bonus.... Hopefully you have a Browser that blocks it.

    No it doesn't.

  • This is probably because you are using some sort of shared hotel/apartment wifi that has been configured to prevent you from doing this.   If you get your own independent internet connection

  • As mentioned, WiFi Hotspots and Mobile Internet will block torrents so that traffic doesn't drag down the throughput of their network. I few ISP's will also block torrents on some packages.

Thanks.

In all likelihood I don't have a browser that is blocking XMR mining, since I was not aware of this.

Is it only mining when the TPB.org site is open or even after I close the site?

Maybe, maybe not. https://www.zdnet.com/article/windows-this-sneaky-cryptominer-hides-behind-taskbar-even-after-you-exit-browser/

You can use the No Coin extension on your Browser or use Opera Browser's built in capability.

Thanks for the link. My CPU is bouncing around at 6-12%, so I most likely dodged this bullet.

Lots of conflicting information as always.

I use uTorrent Version 2.2.1 without a proxy or VPN on TOT. Have been doing it for years without any problems. Have recently upgraded to their 100/50 package and am getting speeds as advertised.

I use TVChaos. EZTV, TorrentDay, 1337x as my main sites. Never had a problem with virus or junk from these sites. Will occasionally go to other sites if I need to.

Here a list of practically all site available for downloads:- https://unblocked.gdn/?domain=http://extratorrent.unblocked.gdn&status=523&request=/
