Back to Pattaya we go, Mr Crusoe

Pictures have emerged on Facebook of a dramatic ocean rescue.

Mr Crusoe - for the want of a better name - was found floating in the sea somewhere off the coast of Pattaya.

It was not sure where he was headed - or if he really wanted to be rescued.

He seemed quite happy on his inflatable bed.

But the kind lads of ocean rescue thought it best to take him back.

Our heroes were Chat-ote Buajaroen, Narin Yaemdech and Kittichai Sathuchart on Rescue dinghy 504 who found the unnamed westerner all at sea and saw him safely back to shore.

No one was hurt and Mr Crusoe was soon reunited with Pattaya Soi 6.

It was not known if Girl Friday was waiting for him.

The story was reported on PR Pattaya on Facebook.

Between the certainty of dealing with an angry thai wife and the viciousness of the open sea, he took his chances.

Shouldn't they have an immigration officer on duty to check and stamp his passport upon entry into Thailand? :cheesy:

The least I could say is smoking on such an inflatable plastic thing in the middle of the sea presents a dangerous risk of deflation faster than expected

Delightful!  And it's refreshing to hear some upbeat responses here for a change.

However, where are the mystery solvers now?  Why so quiet?

My hunches:

He was waiting to receive a little shipment of drugs.

He took his wife out there for a little dunk and had already dunked her (no wonder he looks so happy!)

He was just trying to get away from his Thai wife (no wonder... same as above).

Indeed, he didn't have a passport and figured they wouldn't bother checking for it if they thought they were rescuing him (he was drifting in from other shores).

All ridiculous of course, But who knows??

Here we go again with the misuse of the word "hero".

Are they seriously telling me that if you pick up a guy off an unflateable bed.....that makes you a hero.

Jeez...would make real " heros" cringe.
