Jai Dee Posted October 29, 2017 Posted October 29, 2017 Although Kodi v17.5 has been released, I've been hearing that Android users have had severe problems and that the Kodi developers have pushed v17.5.1 for Android to order to fix the problems. Kodi v17.5 Fixes as follows: Joysticks: Fix accelerometers preventing screensaver More robust way of handling audio output on variety of Android devices Fix playback of DVD file over network on Linux Update to FFmpeg 3.1.11 Fix up and down buttons on ir remotes with macOS High Sierra Added latest apple devices to allow retina support Fix not being able to add content manually to videolibrary Fix power message handling for CEC Fix jumping timeline while switching channel groups in Guide window I'm currently running with v17.4 with no issues but I do like to keep my software in general up to date. Has anyone tried v17.5 yet? Daryle Posted October 29, 2017 Posted October 29, 2017 I'm using 17.5 with the Titanium build on a NVIDIA Shield.... Working good!
TallGuyJohninBKK Posted October 30, 2017 Posted October 30, 2017 The original 17.5 release was reported to be causing crash problems for some users on both Android and Fire TV devices. The updated 17.5.1 release supposedly remedies those problems. http://www.aftvnews.com/kodi-version-17-5-1-released-with-crash-fix-for-fire-tv-and-android-devices/ http://www.aftvnews.com/kodi-version-17-5-causing-issues-for-some-fire-tv-and-fire-tv-stick-users/
Stocky Posted November 3, 2017 Posted November 3, 2017 OK so that's what the 2nd update was all about. I updated to 17.5 and then the new 17.5 (17.5.1) several days later, both work(ed) fine on my little H96 Pro + box (Android 6). .
